Bandida do Pomar: A Risograph Trilogy

Bandida do Pomar is one of the most popular cider brands in Portugal, known for its bold personality and free-spirited attitude. This project involved the development of can labels for three flavors: Apple (Classic), Lemon and Blueberry. The goal was to move away from conventional cider packaging and create a more expressive, handcrafted visual identity that stands out on shelves and in social settings.

The visual concept is inspired by risography, a printing technique recognized for its grainy textures, vibrant color layers and natural imperfections. By referencing this aesthetic, the labels embrace a more human and tactile feel, transforming each can into a design object rather than a purely commercial surface.

Illustration plays a central role in the project. Each flavor is represented by a single fruit, held by graphic, oversized hands, creating a playful interaction between object and image. The illustrations are built with simplified shapes, bold outlines and textured color fills, reinforcing the handmade look while maintaining strong visual impact.

Color is used both to differentiate flavors and to unify the collection. Bright, contrasting palettes highlight each fruit, while textured backgrounds and circular marks subtly reference carbonation and fermentation. Typography follows the same logic, using an organic, slightly irregular typeface that complements the illustrative style without competing for attention.

The final result is a cohesive set of labels that balances boldness and simplicity, combining illustration, color and typography to create a distinctive and approachable identity for Bandida do Pomar.
