An illustration project centered on developing the endpapers and a double-page spread inspired by The Gashlycrumb Tinies, focusing on the narrative of its first three characters through a cohesive visual approach.
The process began with an interpretation of the original tone and structure, identifying opportunities to extend the narrative visually. From there, the project evolved into a storytelling exploration, suggesting a subtle familial connection between the characters.
Through stylistic decisions, the final illustrations establish a dark and atmospheric identity, combining a restrained color palette with strong contrasts. Although digitally produced, the work incorporates analog-inspired textures and imperfections, reinforcing a tactile and expressive visual language.
